雷門から仲見世　Kaminarimon gate to Nakamise street

皆さん知ってました？浅草で有名な雷門って比較的最近の新しいもので、あの松下幸之助が寄進したものなんですって。彼が浅草寺病気回復を祈願して回復したのでお返しとして作り、松下電器があの大きな提灯を寄贈したのです。浅草寺の象徴みたいなあの提灯がそんなふうに作られたとは驚きでした。
　仲見世通りを歩くと、やはり外国人観光客が多いためそこには日本伝統の土産屋と食べ物屋が立ち並びます。他ではなかなか探しにくいようなものがたくさんあり、日本っぽいものを求めて来た外国人には大喜びなこと請け合いです。

下町風情がくっきりと残る伝法院通りは、中世の街並を感じさせます。江戸時代はもっと町人文化が栄えていたんだろなと感じさせます。

韓国人や中国人なんかが煙を楽しんでることが多いのかも
ワラジは魔除けの象徴とのこと。しかしでかい。

The tallest tower in the world

Tokyo Sky tree was opened to public in May 2012 and I visited there for the first time in August. I wanted to take pictures of night-time and day-time so visited twice. On the first day, I got off the train at Oshiage station and looked up the sky then the completed Sky Tree was there! It was illuminated with sky blue called 'Iki'. Amazing! The color changed to purple called 'Miyabi' alternatively after while. I took off my Nicon camera, which is a single-lens reflex one and efficient at night time, but I found the camera was out of battery!! What a fool I was!!
So the pictures of night-time were taken by iphone.

There are 4 types of elevators, each represents spring, summer, autumn and winter. I could take the summer one, in which we could see beautiful fireworks made with glasses and maybe autumn one decorated with golden phoenix.

There are two observatories at 350m and at 450m. From both ones we can see all around Greater Tokyo Area such as Tokyo tower, Roppongi, Shinjuku, Tokyo Dome, Asakusa, Disney land, the Diet Building and so on. I couldn't see Mt. Fuji because it was cloudy though.

The upper observatory called 'Tembo Kairo' features a spiral, glass covered skywalk in which visitors ascend the last 5 meters to the highest point at the upper platform. My parents and I took some pictures there.

A section of glass flooring gives visitors a direct downward view of the streets below. It was too scary for me so I took some pictures and walked away.

Soramachi is the huge shopping mall located by the tower and it has a range of stores from Japan souvenirs to the latest fashion brands. There are a lot of unique shops such as one dealing with food samples made by wax, one specializes in varieties of salt etc.

I didn't have time to go to the planetarium and the aquarium located in the complex so I will try next time.

When you come to Tokyo, you should definitely visit there!!

梅まつり、偕楽園、時代劇セット、銅像たくさん、芸術館など

　今回はサイト主のホームタウン水戸です。高校時代は飽きる程ぶらぶらしていた街ですが、友達が来たついでに改めていろいろとまわってみました。水戸はなんといっても３月の梅の時期か４月の桜の季節に偕楽園あたりをぶらぶらしながらのんびりするのがおすすめです。この度偕楽園で係のおじさんに聞いた情報によると、偕楽園の大きさは都市公園としてはなんとニューヨークのセントラルパークに次いで世界２番目とのこと。大きいのは大きいけどこの田舎のだだっぴろいのがセントラルパークと比べちゃってるのは偕楽園関係者だけだろなーと思ってしまったところでした（笑）。しかしながら、偕楽園は兼六園、後楽園とともに、日本三名園に数えられています。徳川慶喜の父である徳川斉昭により造られたこの庭園には4,000本もの梅の木が植えられています。中にある好文亭も斉昭が自ら指示して造り文人を集めていたとのこと。
　偕楽園の近く千波湖の畔には、今年の秋に公開されるとのことの映画「桜田門外の変」のセットが現在公開されています。ここでロケが行われていたとの事で、写真撮影などができますが800円の価値はないなあというのがほとんどの人の感想かと思います(苦笑)。
　しかし水戸にはいろんなところに銅像ができております。黄門様ご一行に始まり、納豆像、大きな黄門様、印籠付き黄門様、そして小さな慶喜像。ちょっと黄門様は使い過ぎな感あり・・・
　にょろにょろっとした建物は、水戸のシンボル的なタワーで芸術館にあります。登って水戸市街を見渡す事もできます。
最後は高校時にライブなどやっていた水戸のライブハウス。一応BRAHMANのToshi-lowくんなどと対バンをしていた記憶もあり。彼はその頃からカリスマ的だったけど。
